PIC is about nurturing real relationships
PIC sees one young person live in the home of a Professional Therapeutic Carer. The young person receives a professional, therapeutic intervention as well as real relationships. This is an exciting new way to work with young people who need holistic care.
The PIC Model
PIC is not clinical work using professional distance. Rather, it is a relationship-based model that sees the Professional Therapeutic Carer apply their skillset in everyday life. For young people, this means they have stable connections and people in their life who can appropriately respond to complex trauma and attachment needs.
Providing this one-on-one relationship is at the core of our model
If the young person gains a real, trusting relationship with an advocate and a mentor, they are in an infinitely better position to transform their lives. This is easy to say but can be difficult to achieve. We believe the PIC model provides the right foundation for a better future.
